Loai received his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Management Information Systems from the University of Haifa, his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Haifa. He finished his PhD in Mathematics in 2014. Loai was a member of the departments of mathematics and computer science from 2011 at the College of Sakhnin, Acadimic College for Teacher Education. He joined the department of Community Information Systems (CIS) at Zefat Academic College in October 2014. Now, he is a member in the department of Management Information Systems (MIS) at ? The Max Stern Yezreel Valley College.
His current research interest is in data mining, big data, and business analytics, dealing mainly with clustering, non-parametric statistics and algorithms for approximate nearest neighbor search. Of the areas you are seeking applicants his background and interests fit well with Information Systems, Intelligent Systems, as well as Data Sciences and Business Analytics. The main contribution of his research is developing new unsupervised distance func tions and integrating each distance func tion within several data mining algorithms to evaluate how well they reflect the actual similarity between dataset points.
Loai worked on research from 2005 and developed many algorithms in data mining and computer vision working on industry related problems. Most notably for Applied Materials company.
Loai's received many grants such as img4 consortiums, 450mm Metro consortiums sponsored MAGNET program by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and additional honor awards and fellowships.
