Dr. Sofia Shavidze Belikova is a lecturer, researcher, and psychotherapist. She holds a PhD in Criminology from Bar-Ilan University. Her research and teaching interests include addiction and recovery processes, positive criminology, recovery capital, the Twelve-Step program, trauma and post-traumatic growth, motivation for change, and coping with life crises. Her qualitative research explores the lived experience of addiction recovery and processes of personal, familial, and social change, integrating the perspectives of people in recovery, family members, and professionals. Alongside her academic work, she practices psychotherapy, facilitates groups, and provides professional supervision in the fields of treatment and rehabilitation, addiction recovery, and trauma.
